Great comfort for a 4" Heel!
" First off, I know there have been some negative comments about the shoe. I'm a diehard leather shoe freak and hesitated to buy non-leather (pleathers), but quality is quality. The shoe is very well made and has the fit and comfort of leather. The ankle piece fits high above the ankle, which adds to the fit and stability of the shoe. This is probably why it's more comfortable than similar styles that have a shorter ankle piece. Love, Love, Love the zip up back. It slides up and down with ease and has a nice liner piece behind it so you won't scratch or irritate your skin. One other thing is that the leather-like braiding and straps are generous in size so they don’t cut unto your feet or ankles like some designs with narrow braided straps.
Note that I don't have small ankles. I think they are average and these fit fine, not too tight and not loose. People that complain about loose ankles with gladiator shoes probably have skinny ankles and should not wear this type of zip-back style unless there are ankle straps available for adjustment. They are designed to fit a range of women, so you cannot expect the ankle width to accommodate a very skinny ankle or the opposite extreme. I can say that because the shoe's ankle piece sits well above the ankle/foot joint, this adds to the fit and comfort. You don’t have that feeling that the shoe is cutting into your foot after wearing them a while.
I have the competitor’s style (also purchased here) and I like this brand's fit better. I wore these to work today in black for the first time and brought along a pair of flats, just in case these were uncomfortable, but I didn't need them. I wear at least 4" heels as a norm, but as you know, one high heel may not fit like another. I really feel these are more like 4.25" or 4.5" as the heel length is much higher than other shoes I have that I know are 4". All I can say is I loved the black pair so much I bought them in brown. I don’t know that I’d wear these to the mall and spend the day walking and shopping, but I would wear them out dancing, to work or other relaxing or festive events. I wore them with some skinny jeans with a wide rolled cuff that brought them up to show off the entire shoe. These shoes are made to be seen. I received a lot of compliments.
Shopping DSW online is easy and fun. The shoes come beautifully boxed and packaged. I couldn't ask for better service anywhere. I also shop at another shoe designer's website that shall remain nameless, but their new styles never ship by the expected arrival date listed. I have waited months to get a new shoe. By the time I receive it, it’s no longer in season. This is very frustrating. The packaging is terrible. The boxes have arrived crushed. I have paid 2-4 times the amount for those shoes than at DSW, so you can imagine my disappointment. At DSW shoes are plentiful in a variety of sizes. When a new style hits the website, it’s ready to be ordered immediately, you’re not put on hold in a state of perpetual anticipation. They should take some hints from DSW. I'm a customer for life.
Buy these shoes. You might be pleasantly surprised. I was. "

Awesome Shoes
" These shoes are very cute and sexy. I had my eyes on the Chinese Laundry Bounty Platforms, but they're $100+, so I got these instead cuz they're half the price and I have to say I had my doubts, but they're very comfy and look really good. The material may be cheap, but you can't tell. Overall, great shoes! "

I Cried For These Shoes
" Have you ever hopelessly cried for footwear? Maybe not, but for me my shoes are a luxury, so it is a very sensitive issue. I have size 11 feet and therefore I search for shoes in a very limited selection. Walking into DSW one afternoon I hadn't known it then, but I had walked into what would be the wildest goose chase known to mankind. Spotting the Zigi Soho Magdalena right in the enterance of the store, my eyes had never been happier. I quickly scanned my eyes for a size 11, only to be briefly disappointed. This disappointment had come to me so many times before that I had been able to regulate my emotions very easily. I ended up grabbing the next best thing: a size 10. I ran over to try on the shoe, gawking at its own beauty. It looked like something right out of Hollywood. An older man and his wife were exiting the store just as I was modeling it around in the mirror and he said to me: "Wow, those look hot! You should definitely buy those!!" The excitement on his face was enough to give him a heart attack. Keep in mind, this was an older man with his wife, talking about shoes. I left without buying anything, my eyes set on DSW.com to have size 11. I got home, devastated to find no size 11 available online. Everything had been sold! To quickly sum up the next 2 months, I spent endless hours searching every internet site (which only led me back to DSW.com), calling every DSW in New England begging for this shoe, calling factories and Zigi Soho shoe stores... but nothing. No one knew when a new shipment would come in, and DSW employees had no indication that the Magdalena shoe would even be in those shipments! I called every single day, never giving up on this sleek, sexy, braided, gladiator goddess. Those 2 months ended, but my search didn't. I casually walked into DSW recently with my brother, not looking for anything specifically... BUT OH MY GOSH THERE THEY WERE!!! I grabbed my brother's arm hoping to not making a scene, hoping to regulate my emotions but it was no use! My eyes were tearing up, I started shaking in disbelief, my ears could hear nothing, and I was babbling to my clueless brother "There they are... those are them... oh no... oh no... Ryan look..." I scanned the boxes and saw size 11 in both the brown AND the black shoe. They must have just gotten a shipment! I grabbed BOTH size 11's and ran to the nearest bench throwing off my shoes and carefully placing on my Magdalenas. My brother didn't understand what all the fuss was about, but there I was, standing in the middle of DSW, wearing the shoes of my dreams, holding hostage both size 11's, and not willing to let anything go. Both colors were so sexy and appealing but a decision had to be made. I picked the oh-so-gorgeous black Magdalenas, but I didn't buy them. WHAT!!!! Now I know you think that I am crazy, but I had my reasons. I had done the math and known that through all the wonderful cupons and discounts online, that I would be able to purchase them cheaper through DSW.com. But what if they were all sold out by the time I made it home? Well make no mistake about it, I grabbed my brother's arm, tore him out of that store, ran to our car, and gunned it home. Sweat was running down my face while I got to the website, filled out all my information, and pressed "purchase" so hard that I almost broke the button on my mouse. They arrived a few days later and they were just as stylish, just as perfect as I had remembered when I first laid my eyes on them. Needless to say, I wear them every day. I know that this is the best shoe I have ever bought. I know that I have no regrets. And I know, that when I wear the Zigi Soho Magalena shoes, I am wearing my best self. "
