Aston Grey Vanderbilt Patent Slip-On

" This is the perfect shoe for the occassional black tie outing. If you want a workhorse for frequent formal events then I suggest you buy a different shoe.
The shoe is tapered at the toe, so if you have disproportionately long feet, like me, you may want to consider another shoe, as the Vanderbilt will make your feet look even longer by one or two full sizes.
I usually wear a wide shoe but these are pretty comfortable for a regular width. I wouldn't want to wear them more than a few hours. For an evening they get the job done without any squeezing of the toes or foot. The inside of the shoe provides moderate cushioning for the soles of the feet but none around the quarters of the shoe (insides) for the sides of the feet.
The biggest negative about these shoes is that the topline (edge of the shoe around the ankle) digs into the lateral malleolus (the bone that sticks out on the outside of the ankle). A cushion sole insert or some insert with a bit of extra lift may help the malleolus clear the topline, not sure. It is a small annoyance but I won't be wearing these more than a couple times a year so I can live with it.
I give it a 7 out of 10, 10 being the best. "

Comfortable Fit

" Purchased to wear with my tux. Very comfortable shoe that I have worn for an entire evening being on my feet most of the night. Very satisfied with the quality of the shoe and would recommend. "

Tux Shoe

" Perfect traditional tux shoe if you want the patent leather look. Good style, looks sharp and about as comfortable as you'd expect from patent leather. "
