If I got the sizing right, I would love this shoe.
" First, my foot has a high instep, and is on the edge between sizes and width. Base how you relate to that."
I got my lower size and medium width instead of wide, which I don't think this shoe comes in.
This shoe does not have a deep opening for your foot, meaning that the top part of the shoe does not give a lot of space to insert your foot. Once it was on, it wasn't crushing.
The toe has a small taper. It's by no means a pointy shoe. Even so, when I put the shoe on, it felt like I had to push my toes "through" something to get them into the toe box. (And yes, I checked to see that I removed all the "stuffing", twice.)
Once on, I wiggled my toes and after about a minute, that issue was resolved.
I think I'm going to see if the next size up will give more toe room and have a bigger hole to stick my foot. (And again, yes, I know my mouth is big enough. LOL) "

Too Shiny
" I recently purchased these shoes for my fiancé and the fit was true to his normal size, though in person he thought they we're far too shiny. They almost have a patent leather look. if you are looking for a more muted finish I would not recommend these. "

Better to opt for the Florsheim Corbin
" these look great on the rack, but they don't necessarily look great when you pair them up with your favorite pants. The split toe is what kills it, and they aren't quite as comfortable as you might expect from a shoe with an MSRP of $165. Regardless, if you're looking for a slip on that still offers style AND comfort, get the Florsheim Corbins. I bought them from DSW 2 years ago, but they no longer carry them at my local warehouse. "
