Too Pocahontas for my Taste

" These boots look so much better online then they did in person. I had thought the shaft was distressed leather. It is distressed suede. I cannot stand suede. I think it was the suede that made it look too Pocahontas. I had originally bought these to go with my Steampunk clothing. Definitely would have looked idiotic with Steampunk clothing. The gold accents on the shaft design are much duller than in the online picture.
This boot does fit true-to-size. The calf would have fit if I had bothered to undo the laces and loosen them. But I didn't bother after I saw the style of the boot. I have 16 inch calves and ordered a size 6.
This is a quality boot. It just wasn't my style. "

" First off, these boots are just as cute in real life as they are in the picture. I do not know what they were using to measure the calf circumference though. they are almost 17" at the top of the boot!! They also do not taper down much toward the ankle so they are horribly baggy and sloppy looking, and they look even worse when you tighten the "corset". I can grab almost a full 2 inches of material. I'm going to take them to a cobbler to see how much it will cost to have them taken in but if this is something you aren't willing to do and you do not have gignormous calves, I'd stay away from these. :( "
