did they just dust the color on for show?

"These fit fine, very comfortable but the color wore off with just a few wearings. It started with crease lines which looked ok but soon after, a good part of the boot was a light beige & even down to the black of the boot material itself. Unless you want something that will look antiqued very very fast, dont purchase."
