Holy VOCs, Batman!
"My boyfriend bought me these boots as a gift back in December, and they are beautiful. They are comfy as far as rainboots are concerned, though the lining makes them a bit tight. The biggest issue I've had with these though is that they smell awful. The rubber gives off a VERY strong chemical smell. I was hoping eventually they would off-gas, but it's already been over 3 months and it shoes no signs of abating. Since it's been so long and because they were a gift, I will not be returning them, though I would under any other circumstance. The smell is relentless."

BEAUTIFUL BOOTS
"These boots are gorgeous and I LOVE the horse look! However, they have a fatal flaw. Most rubber boots do not have a lining and now I know why. The lining on these boots strangles the foot and it causes the foot to go to sleep. It is so uncomfortable that the only relief is take them off. I even tried it with no socks and my foot was still strangled... but then I found the solution. The lining is only sewn in at the top and it took me 10 minutes to take out the stitching and the lining came right out. I then took out the stitching on the logo insole and put it back. The boots are 1000 times more comfortable. Now they are great!! And I took these boots to two shoe repair places to see if they could fix my problem and they couldn't. I was so glad to figure it out! Of course, when you pay $400 for rubber boots, you should not have to unstitch the lining but I didn't want to give up the boots and removing the lining solved my problem! If they wanted to put in thick lining, they should have made the boots wider..."
