Love, love, love!
"I was so depressed when my old combat boots bit the dust. I went on a search for a new pair and was surprised at the limited availability. The first pair I ordered (from someplace else) were not what I was looking for. Then I found these boots on DSW.com and fell in love! Having large calves, it is very difficult to find boots to fit me and they did. I have worn them a lot already and hope they last for a long time to come."

"I was so hopeful that these shoes could be my new brown boots I've been searching for a few years now. Unfortunately, as soon as I opened the box, I knew it wasn't so. The shoes emit a cloud of chemical stench that was really overpowering my room. The fit was big around my calves (which is why I have such a problem finding boots) which I thought could be remedied by tightening them but it turns out they only tighten a very small amount.
If you have bigger calves than me and no olfactory sense, these may work. They've since been returned."

I love them, but they're tight.
"I love these boots, I have been looking for boots like this for a long time, because they lace up and then don't have a stupid zipper. The only problem I have with them is they are really tight on the arch part of my foot. I like to wear these boots with socks and my jeans tucked into them and I often have to take them off often because it hurts after a certain amount of time."

Disappointed
"Loved the way these looked online, but they are going back. I have to agree with the other reviewers on the chemical smell. The odor that these boots have is very strong. In addition, I do not have skinny legs by any means, but these are just too big around the top sweater part of the calf. When I tied them, the sides overlap. Sad that they are being returned."

"When I got these boots finally shipped to me (early), I was excited. Then I tried them on and they are long, and they smell like gasoline. They are just okay. Not going to be keeping them."

great style, but chemical smelling
"The boot has a terrific look, unfortunately I spent hours rattling my brain wondering where this chemical odor was coming from in my apartment - only to discover that it was coming from these boots in the opened package. You know how some cheaper material made shoes smell badly, like chemicals? This was one of them and it just doesn't seem healthy to keep them in our home. Returning them."

So impressed!
"I just got these boots through the mail, and I couldn't wait to try them on!! I got these in black. I was looking for a soft black for versatility, something about a harsh black turns me off. These will be wearable with so much more. I also love the textures on this boot! The sweater-material band is a little stretchy, and makes these super easy to pull on and off. I love love love the look of it! I have wider feet and calves, and found these extremely comfortable. I can wear a 10 or 11, and bought these in a 10...perfect choice! I recommend these!!"
