Great premium converse at a reasonable price.
" Converse by John Varvatos is the leading line of Converse's premium leather shoes. I was very pleased to find them on DSW, as they can be quite difficult to find. This pair in particular is the standard low-top sneaker with the classic converse Chevron on the side. If you like the classic converse sneaker look but want to step it up a bit with some premium materials, this shoe is perfect for that. It comes with a different insole for comfort and arch support, so they feel completely different from standard chucks.
While the shoes themselves are fantastic, I have to knock off a star for the color. While the leather upper is taupe shade, it looks a bit darker in person, especially in lower light settings. The leather around the eyelets is also the same color as the rest of the leather, not the contrasting lighter shade that can be seen in DSW's preview photo.
One last note; as always, Converse chucks run about a size large, so you may want to consider sizing down a half to full size smaller than your normal shoe size. That being said, these shoes are a fantastic buy. "
