"I bought these shoes for a trip to Italy. I wore them for the first time to the airport. By the last leg of my flight, they looked like they were years old. The pleather was all cracked and looked like suede. By the second day of the trip, the heels on both shoes came off. I didn't pack a lot of shoes, so I had to stick gum on them to try to make them last through the week. They didn't. I had to buy new shoes there. Yes, I walked a lot in the two days leading up to the heels coming off, but it was just a few miles a day. I expect a pair of shoes to give more than a few miles. And when I say heel, I mean the whole flap that is more like the bottom of the shoe. I really wish I'd taken a photo, but I was so angry that I threw them in the trash at the store where I bought new shoes."
