Good Basic Boot

" With the onset of cooler weather, I was looking for a classic tall black boot to wear to work this fall and winter. My style is a bit traditional and I'm in a conservative field, so I didn't want anything with too many embellishments. These seem to fit the bill and delivered an expensive look with a more budget-friendly price tag.

The leather is a nice texture, neither pebbly nor plastic-y. The interior has a soft knit lining and the inside partial zipper makes the boot easy to pull on and off. The 3/4" platform makes the effective heel height only 3", which is definitely comfortable to walk around in. There isn't much cushion on the sole of the shoe in the toebox, so there's potential for fatigue there.

The main issue I have with the boot is the split in the back. It tends to flare out rather than laying flat against the calf. I would imagine the flare is to allow extra room for wider calves, which I understand and appreciate, but this is a potential issue to note. If you have slim calves or don't think a little flare would bother you, then by all means, ignore this point!

Overall, I'm happy with the boot and plan to incorporate it into a number of my outfits this fall and winter. "
