Terribly Made Through and Through
" I'm someone who loves wearing very tall heels, but even tall heels need to be made well and comfortable enough to walk in. The cons far outweigh the pros for this boot. I wouldn't recommend this to any of my friends.
Pros:
+ Blocks out wind pretty well during the winter
+ Very strong material used for the heel and sole
+ Wide shaft for my wide calves
+ Wide sole/heel for walking stability
Cons:
- No arch support (and I don't even have high arches by any definition). This was noticeable by the pocket of air I could feel between the ball and heel of my foot as I walked and caused far too much joint pains, which leads to my next con...
- No cushion whatsoever and the sole is made of very hard material (even when I doubled up on socks -- which identified more cons -- the soles of my feet would cry for mercy within the first 2 hours of wear)
- Unforgiving upper material (found this out when I doubled up on the socks to add cushion). When I wore socks, the material used to make the upper material would squeeze so tightly on the bone of my upper foot that it caused me pain, and this is even though I ordered a size up so that I could fit winter socks into the shoe
- Extremely steep angle causes me to feel like I'm not even walking with the balls of my feet anymore, but on the pivot of my toe knuckles, and it causes pain from my toes up to my knees. I like tall heels (I own everything from kitten heels to 6" stilettos, and a majority of my shoes are at least 4" tall), but the angle from the heel down to the ball needs to be proportional to the shoe size. It seems like the platform in the ball of the shoe is too thin for the height of the heel, which makes the angle unnecessarily extreme.
- Cheap upper/shell material. The suede is okay, although it did tear a little at the back ankle when I tried putting it on, but the inner shell used to shape the boot is so cheap that when I leave it in my closet (lying flat on its side) for a few months between uses, the very next time I go to put it on, I can hear the crackling of the lining as if it's been dehydrating and becoming dry/rigid. That sound goes away after the first use, but none of my other boots ever crackle no matter how long they sit in the closet, and the crackling is even more pronounced in the winter.
I wanted to love this boot (ordered two colors, which both had the exact same cons), but I'm not someone who puts fashion ahead of my health, and these are just too painful throughout to continue wearing. I'll be replacing them soon. "
