Run big...but cute and comfy!
" I have been looking for a pair of rain boots to take with me on our upcoming trip to Italy this spring. After reading reviews, I understood that these boots run big. I wear an 8 in all the boots I own, so I ordered these in an 8 and in a 7. I will not be wearing them with thick wool socks, so I wanted the to fight snugly with regular socks. The size 8 were too big, but the size 7 fit snugly. These boots are very comfortable to walk in. I like how they are not stiff...I owned a pair of Kamik rain boots that had the clear plastic coating on them, which made them very stiff and uncomfortable. The boots arrived today and I have only worn them around the house, so I cannot attest to how durable they are. But they are cute and comfy and I look forward to wearing them on rainy days :)

Cute boots...but very uncomfortable!
" I was looking for a pair of boots to wear to our upcoming trip to Europe. I saw these Steve Madden boots...the price was great and they looked very cute. I wear a size 8 in all the boots I own, but based on other reviews, I decided to order these in a size 8.5 as well. I ordered them in taupe.
Taking them out of the box...
- They are lighter than the photo. More grey/tan than the light brown in the photo online (maybe just my computer screen). I really liked the color and the distressed leather. They are very cute boots :)
- I liked how the two buckles on the side unsnap so that you can zip the zipper all the way down.
- The size 8, my regular size, were way too small. I tried on the 8.5 and I had to really shove my foot into the heel. They fit fine length-wise, but they were VERY narrow. I think I have pretty average feet and have never bought wide-width shoes. These fit very tightly and were very uncomfortable to walk in. I suppose I could try and break them in, but who wants to break in shoes when you are sight-seeing in Europe?!
- Not a big deal, but I wish they would fight tighter around the calves. I felt like they had a lot of gap at the top and I would have liked them to be more fitted.

So bottom line is that I decided to return both pairs. They are cute boots, but unless you have narrow feet, I think these shoes would be very uncomfortable. I wasn't willing to attempt to break-in a $80 pair of shoes.

Neither size fit...wide in calves
" These looked so cute online and I was excited to have them for the spring and summer to wear with dresses. I usually wear size 8 in boots...I ordered these in an 8 and in an 8.5. They are pull-on boots, but the back of the boots (where your heels slip in) is very firm and not flexible. In the size 8 I could not get my heal into the boot. I was able to get the 8.5 on, but then my foot slipped up and down when I walked. Even if the boots would have fit, I would have still been hesitant to keep them because the shaft of the boot is very wide. I like boots to fit more tightly around my calves...these are very wide and open where you can see down into them. I really wanted these to work, but I'm going to return both pairs and go looking for something else :0(

" For reference I am 5'4" and 120 pounds. I was looking for a pair of black casual boots to wear with leggings and skinny jeans. On the computer these boots look very cute. In person, they look very sloppy. The calf area is huge and the toe is small and pointed, which makes your calves look bigger than they are. I usually wear a size 8 in boots. The size 8 in this boot was ran small and the heal area has a hard part that is difficult to get your heal over and your foot down into the shoe. Once you do, they feel very uncomfortable and the heels rubs. I personally didn't like them at all and immediately returned them to DSW.

LOVE!
" I bought these shoes for occasional running and working out at home. They are the most comfortable athletic shoes that I own. I think they call them "minimalist" shoes because they have a very light-weight foam sole and then the body of the shoes is made of mesh. They are very light and you barely feel like you are wearing shoes. I wear them without socks and they are incredibly comfortable.

Great snow boots!
" I bought these for my 8-year-old daughter. She seems to really like them and I like that they are very warm and waterproof. They aren't "trendy" winter boots, but they will be perfect for snowy walks to school and playing in the snow here in Colorado :)

Not for me
" On the computer screen I loved these booties, especially the brown "leather" fabric. I wear tall boots all through the winter and I was excited to try a pair of shorter boots, especially with the wedge heel. Unfortunately these boots looked really awful on me. I am 5'4" and 120 pounds, but I've had four kids and so I have wider hips and thighs. When I wore them with skinny jeans, these short boots made me feel dis-proportioned, rather than giving a more stream-lined look like tall boots do (I hope that makes sense). When I looked in the mirror I felt like I looked like an elf. With the short height and pointy toes, these boots do remind me of elf boots. I gave them a "3 star" rating because they do seem to be nicely made boots, but they just weren't for my body type.

Beautiful Boots!
" I have been eyeing these boots for a long time, so my husband ordered them for my birthday :) In boots I wear a size 8. Based on other reviews, I had a feeling that they would run small, so I ordered my regular size and one size up. The size 39 (which is a size 9 in US sizes) fits like a size 8, so my opinion is that they run one size too small. I have a normal width foot and they feel like they fit a tad narrow, but not enough for them to be uncomfortable. We ordered the brown and they are very pretty and seem like they will be very versatile. I like the slight wedge...nice to find a pair of boots that has a small heel without a chunky heel like most riding boots do. The pleats and buttons make they look very feminine and trendy. They look and feel well-made-- they really are beautiful boots! I know the price tag is kinda steep, but for the unique look, I feel they are worth the cost. My biggest piece of advice is to order your regular size and one size up and return the pair that doesn't fit :)
