So pretty but...

" I searched high and low for a pair of boots that met my requirements (not too plain but not too flashy, not too high of a heel but enough to be elegant, and good quality), and these were the clear winner. However, I had to agonize over which size to get due to the narrowness and longer than normal sizing. I have a slightly wide foot, so if an 8.5 wide is available I prefer that, but if not a 9 works just fine, or sometimes even an 8.5 regular depending on the style. Not so with these. I had tried these on in store, and I thought an 8.5 worked although a little tight, but I didn't have a thick sock on at the time. So when they finally went on sale I confidently ordered an 8.5, which was great in length but started to make my feet ache after a few minutes of wearing them with socks. So I exchanged for a 9, only to find that they were noticeably longer than my foot and my heal lifts slightly. I have never had such a problem with sizing before. If you have a narrow foot, these will be great for you, but for the rest of us it could be a problem. I would recommend trying them on in store (wearing socks or whatever you plan to wear with them!) or ordering a couple pairs to try (DSW has a great return policy). I ended up keeping the size 9 because I've looked at just about every other pair of boots out there, and these are still my favorite. If only there were more standard in length and width! "
