Loses softness in record time

" When I tried these on in the store, they were SO comfortable. Structurally, they are still a great fit for my aged dancer's/runner's arches, but within a couple of days, the softness had vanished and I felt as though I was walking on one of those hard plastic orthotics. The velcro has also weakened within 3 weeks and now curls up really unappealingly and comes loose. I wish this weren't true, because they are cute and super stable. I wore them while traveling and I was on and off ferries, up and down stairs, and walking on uneven surfaces without a worry -- except for the aches in the soles of my feet from walking on such a hard shoe. That was a real drag on my vacation, but I wasn't going to stop sightseeing in order to shop for shoes, because I hate shopping for shoes. Bummer. They were so close to perfect. I have to take them back and start the hunt all over again. "
