"Selling point of these boots-A previous reviewer from my hometown of Syracuse, NY, said these boots were like having snow tires on your feet. She is SO right! I bought a different pair of boots from DSW earlier in the season and while they were comfy, I slipped and fell on black ice right after the first snow fall. Today I walked over slippery, slushy sidewalks and I could feel the ice under me, but I didn't slip once! These boots are a bit clunky, because they are heavy duty, extremely warm, waterproof winter boots, but it's not a huge deal. So you get stronger calves and thighs from having a bit of weight on your feet. No big whoop. Measure your feet though, because these run a bit small and I had to order a half size larger. I used the size chart for Columbia and it was right about my size for these boots."

Runs small!!!
"These boots were adorable and warm, but they run a half size or whole size small, depending on your preference. I bought a size 8 like I normally do for shoes and boots, and the backs of these boots were rubbing against my heels. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't broken them in yet or not, but they are a tad too small and I wish they were sold in half sizes online, because I would buy an 8.5. I will be exchanging them for other boots in the store. Oh and you can only wear them with straight legged or skinny jeans/pants, or leggings, because other pants will look ridiculous tucked in."

Cute boots, but I they are not right for me
"I bought these boots to be my winter boot down here in Maryland and Washington DC, which doesn't get as bad a winter as New York. However, they are not water proof, just water resistant. Even though you can get that spray to make them water proof, I still think I am going to return them and just spend a little more on actual winter boots. I want to be able to wear my boots when I visit my sister in New York and there's actual snow on the ground. On a side note, they are super comfortable. Easy Spirit delivers in that department. I also like the sole and how it's cute and still looks like it would provide good traction on slippery ground."
