Took time to break in
" These shoes were comfortable once they were broken in, but destroyed my heels the first few days I wore them. The low heel makes this a very wearable shoe, but it is by no means a "comfort" shoe (no arch support, no cushioning) like some other dress brands. "

Cute, but I don't expect them to last long
" I bought these booties shortly before a trip and walked many miles in them almost right out of the box with little discomfort (no rubbing, just some soreness from lack of cushion and arch support). The sole is very hard, slick, and rigid at first, but after a couple days the sole of the shoe had worn off, exposing a much softer, grippier, more flexible black rubber underneath. Now my concern is that I'll wear the sole out under the ball of my foot if I do a lot of walking in these booties! I have already worn down the heel (which is a hard plastic) a few mm in just a couple weeks. I bought these with a coupon; I definitely would not pay full price because I do not expect them to last long.
There is no arch support; the insole is flat and firm. The insole is not removable and I do not think there is room to add an insert, but maybe you could get away with something very thin.
I get a ton of compliments on these booties. I have the taupe, and they are terrific with skinny jeans or with dark tights and a skirt. The taupe does look very grayish in certain light; I actually took them to the store to compare (I ordered online) to make sure I hadn't been sent the gray by mistake. "

Looks cheap
" This shoe seems to be a replacement for the recently-discontinued but extremely popular Naturalizer Hasten flat. Unfortunately, it is an inferior shoe.
The elastic around the top makes the shoe look cheap and casual, and it doesn't add any function because the shoe is rigid and well-formed (unlike the flatter/thinner ballet flats with elastic that kind of curl up when you take them off). In addition, the shoe has a low vamp, especially compared to the Hasten, and doesn't feel very secure on the foot.
The rubber outsole provides good traction, and because the heel is more substantial than many flats that quickly wear out if you walk long distances, it should be more comfortable and durable over the long run. "
