Classic look; needs breaking in

" These boots are a great, classic casual boot, just what I was looking for. I am pleased with their appearance. However, in agreement with other reviewers, they do run tight and I am hoping that will break in the more I wear them. I wear either an 8 or 8 1/2. I tried both sizes. The 8 seemed really tight so I got the 8 1/2 but that did not solve the problem as they were too long, only slightly looser, and cut into my ankles. So the 8 actually fits better length-wise, just tight across the top arch of my foot, but I do have room in the toes. I am hoping over a little time they will stretch and conform. The sole is so-so comfy, wish it was softer. The leather is a nice soft leather. They are made in India. The shaft circumference of the boot is also a little big on me, but I have skinny calves at 12.5" and almost all boots do this on me, so I haven't much choice if I want to wear boots; these at least seem narrower in the shaft than many others I try. They were on sale and I will keep them and hope they break in as they really are nice looking, perfect with causal skirts and skinny jeans. They also repelled water in light rain last week. "
