" A very light, very comfortable boat shoe. Note that real Sperry Topsiders have a sole that is "siped," meaning the squiggly lines you see on the sole are cut in with a razor. This gives the shoes sole that "squeegee" affect that creates a truly non-slip sole for water use (boats). So be careful as a lot of less expensive boat shoes just use a molded pattern to simulate that siping.
While the siping on these IS molded... they provide fairly good traction on wet surfaces.
My only issue is with the leather, these are real leather... but the finish of the leather looks more like vinyl or pleather. It is a very odd leather that I haven't come across before. It could be from some type of waterproof treatment, I really don't know.
I would recommend these as they really are very comfortable, the memory type insole adds to that. But next time I think I might spend "twice" the amount for true Sperry TopSiders in a leather that more natural looking.
