BEST BOOT EVER!!
" I ONLY WISH I HAD BOUGHT MULTIPLE PAIR!!
Ok, let me put this in perspective for you. I can NEVER, (I repeat) NEVER, find wide calf boots that fit me. With 17 inch calves, even most wide calf boots don't fit me, I've tried on dozens over the years, literally dozens(plural). I found this pair in black last year at my local DSW store. Tried them on and they fit like glove. SCORE!!! I got showered with compliments immediately (still do), so I went back a month later and bought the brown pair. I wear these boots EVERY DAY during winter, yes I'm serious, EVERY SINGLE DAY! So that being said, given my frequent wear, my zipper on my black boots wore out too. However, I was unwilling to let someone rip the zipper out to replace it because I knew it would never fit the same. So I took some handy-dandy fishing line and fixed it myself. VOILA, just like new again.
This is my second year to wear them, and my only wish is that I would've bought multiple pair. They are comfortable, chic and fit perfectly.
Now, let's be real, I spent about a hundred dollars (give or take, with coupons and such) but I wear my boots all the time, so I don't expect them to last me 10 years. If I were only wearing them on infrequent occasions (once a week), I would expect them to last me a lot longer but I wear them all the time, so I expect them to wear out a little bit. I was dissappointed about the zipper, but it was only the top 3 inches of my black pair, so it was an easy fix for me. It hasn't happened on my brown pair at all (because I wear them less frequently).
I live in Houston, so I don't have to deal with snow or salted streets. However, I do try to keep the leather conditioned at least once a month and I store all my boots in protective boxes to prevent scuffs. Given that I can't find my size anymore, I want both my black pair and brown pair to last as long as possible. I plan to wear these until the soles fall off.
All in all, I would DEFINITELY buy these boots again. If they still had my size I would buy them today just to have a backup pair. "
