"I purchased my first pair of Mercanti Fiorentini shoes over two years ago and wore them almost everyday over that time. I had them resoled twice. This is a DSW house brand.
Those shoes were made of deerskin and were very soft from day one. They looked great and felt comfortable. Finally, the upper wore out. So, I went with Fiorentini again (two pair this time...a black and a brown). I'm not disappointed at all. These will require break-in. The fit is perfect.
The main points on these shoes that makes them a great value for me:
1) They're made in Italy as opposed to China. They cost a bit more than Chinese competition at DSW, but they're well worth it.
2) They're able to be resoled. Be careful of cheaper shoes. They more or less must be tossed out when the soles get worn. My experience is that they don't last very long. Resoling them will cost more than buying a new pair of cheap shoes.
3) They LOOK GREAT! I get a lot of compliments...especially from women."

These will require break-in. They feel a bit narrow. I actually like shoes that fit snugly. I presume they'll feel better after brea-in. I've only been wearing them for a week.
