Stiff but attractive
" With all the fashion being a nubuck or suede leather I was happy to find these for those days you think the weather may go bad. I got the cognac and while not as bright (tan) as I'd like they are pretty boots. The problems with them are typical of all AK boots--there always seems to be an issue with construction OR materials that make the fit so-so. I got my normal size and they fit fine: a bit tight in the middle of my foot (mine is slightly wide with a high arch) but not too tight in the toe since it's a lower heel and the slightly high ankle is still big enough for those of us with wide calves. However the material is really stiff and makes walking uncomfortable at first, which is compounded by the higher than ankle height which enhances the stiff quality of the boot. Don't get me wrong, it's leather with a nice sole and strong inner mold that will hold up to time, but the material really needs a lot,of,time to,break in for comfort. Also, because it's so stiff and waxed it will scuff easily. Final note: while these don't have an overt western look to,them, the toe does lift off the ground like a real cowboy boot ever so slightly. "

" I bought these in the brown online. I already owned a pair of pointed toe Vince Camuto boots so I thought I was safe to purchase this pair online. I was wrong; this boot was quite a bit smaller than my other pair. Nearly every pair of boots I own are a size 10, or 9.5W, but these 10's felt like 9's. My toe cramped all the way to the end of the toe box. However, it was a good height and a stylish looking shoe (though I personally felt the leather wasn't as soft or high end as I would've liked). Since all my toes went to the end of the shoe I think with the right size this would be quite comfortable for anybody with a normal to slightly wide foot. Definitely buy 1/2 size bigger "

Awkward
" I bought this boot and wore it for a full day, but I sat most of it (thank God). This is a true cowboy boot in that it throws off your balance due to the heel angle and the toe is so pointy that you need at least one boot size bigger. I've never bought a boot larger than size 10, and I have plenty of pointed toe boots, but this one was quite snug--though I think it will stretch with wear. Since I had sat most of the day I wasn't sure if I would return these, but at the end of the day my feet were so cramped, the heel made driving awkward too, and my toes were so tight that I couldn't bear the thought of wearing them again. They're so cute that I originally planned to buy an insole/ pad, but after wearing them the one day I knew the shoe was too narrow and tight to accommodate one without adding to the tightness of the overall shoe. I love the look of these boots, I saw them last year online and wanted them too, but this boot is unfortunately only for those with small and narrow feet. "

" Sorry DSW but there's no way this bag comes close to 17"! I should've known when I compared it to other sites this bag isn't even 13". I thought with the dimensions I could get away with this being my laptop bag, and I'd carry the rest in my messenger as I keep breaking down good leather bags with too much stuff. Definitely not going to work. I also found the color to be more burgundy than purple, but there is some purple cast. Sorry it's going back. Very small, even the handle is too small to comfortably go over your shoulder. "

" I bought the black, though I tried on all 3 colors. I wear a 9 to 9.5 in tennis shoes and I bought a 10 in these (though I usually buy a 10 in anything with a heel). These are incredibly manageable to walk in, and though they may begin to cause some ache after 3-4 hrs in them, it's nothing like the pain in most boots. Van Eli always makes an incredibly comfortable sole and the quality of product--the suede, the luxurious, rich and depth of the color--is great. They're pricey, but they'll last you more than one winter (and, as for scuffs, yes they're suede, but they rub right out) and they're fashionable yet traditional enough to last many years. "

Ok, but...
" I bought these shoes earlier in the year. The toe comes out a little long (but I have a wide foot and often with strappy sandals I have to buy a little longer in order to fit my toes correctly). Overall they're very comfortable, but with the material on the sole of the shoe if you do much walking you get a friction-effect that begins to hurt and the leather straps begin to dig into your feet tightly as all the walking and the heat makes your feet swell. It's a very cute shoe and comfortable for a sit down job, but no walking across campus or outdoor shopping. "
