These boots are made for fixin'

" I fell in love with these boots in brown! They are really gorgeous and perfect for any outfit from jeans to dresses. I justified the price because they seemed like quality boots that could last multiple seasons with proper care. Unfortunately, after two months of babying them (wiping off salt, waterproofing and conditioning the leather) the left zipper started to stick. Then a week later, I realized it wasn't just sticking. The zipper was actually falling apart! My immediate thought was to exchange the boots for another pair, since they were defective. Alas, they were already on clearance! I couldn't find my size available online or in ANY store within a three state radius. Yes, I searched out of desperation! Eventually, I took the boots into a local repair shop and spent $25 to have a new zipper installed. The repair is acceptable, but the zipper doesn't look nearly as nice as it did originally. I'm sure most people don't notice but to me the left boot looks a little shoddy now. Oh, well! I still love the look of these boots but next time I won't be fooled by the price. Higher price tags don't necessarily equal better quality! "
