not really cognac! too small!
" As soon as I opened the shoe box (I ordered these online), I immediately assumed that I was sent the wrong boot. They did not look at all like cognac! They were brown, and not even a light brown, but a darkish cocoa-colored brown. But, after checking online, I determined that these boots are the correct ones and they are labeled as "cognac." I also noticed that the same stye's "brown" seems like a really, really dark brown. So, I thought that I may want to keep these, because even if they are not the color I expected, they were still nice. However, when I attempted to try them on, I couldn't 't even fit my foot in the shoe portion, let alone zip up the boot! I even sized up; I normally wear a size 8, but I purchased an 8.5 in these because of the reviews I read. So, I would say that these boots were, unfortunately, a disappointment on two fronts and they will be going back. "

beautiful boots...strange fit
" I purchased these boos in wide calf so they would comfortably fit over jeans and leggings. (In the past, I have had problems with boots' zippers getting caught on tights and leggings due to them being too tight.) But, surprisingly, that was not the problem with these-- the problem was the fit of the actual shoe portion. I ordered them online, and when I opened the box, I thought that the boots were very beautiful and a true, rich cognac color. But, when I first tried them on, they felt tight in the toe area. I was just going to exchange them for a larger size, but then when I tried to walk around with them on in my apartment, I felt that they were too loose in the heel. Because of this, I felt that getting a size up wouldn't really help my fit problem. So, unfortunately, I had to return these beautiful boots. They seemed like really nice quality-- I would just maybe recommend trying them on in the store first, if possible! "

cute, but not quite wide enough
" These are cute sandals, and I would recommend them to someone else, especially someone who doesn't have wider feet. I don't have particularly wide feet; I don't have to order W sizes in any styles of shoe, but these are still a little narrow. This usually wouldn't matter that much as long as the shoe was still comfortable, but since these are open toed shoes, my toes did not go to the edge because my foot was too wide for the front part. I thought that this didn't look the best, the extra space between my toes and the front of the shoes, so I returned them. "

comfy rain boot
" I have always had issues with rain boots; either they get a hole in the bottom and then become useless on rainy days, or they are too narrow in the calf area and do not fit over my jeans. So, when I found these shorter rain boots, I thought that they would solve my problem. And they do! They are quite comfortable and lined with a comfy fur-like lining. A drawback of the lining is that they are not the best for really warm rainy days, but they are great for spring and fall. I have experienced one issue with these: they have an sole insert that does not seem to be attached to the sole of the shoe. I first thought that only the left shoe had this issue because it made my jean legs twist when I walked, but when I looked closer, I realized that neither sole insert was attached. I think that this is the way that they are supposed to be made. If that bothers you, you could probably take it to a shoe repair store and have the sole inserts attached permanently, or you could also just take them out. "

cute, but not the best fit
" These booties are cute, but after trying a few pairs of booties over the years, I think that I am coming to terms with the fact that booties are really not my favorite style of boot. These shoes appear to be well made, so I would recommend them to others (especially bootie lovers)!
However, at least for me, I think the fit was kind off. This may be because they are sized in European sizes, but that also just be my justification for an 8 (equivalent to a 39 based on sizing conversion charts) not quite fitting like most other 8-sized shoes do for me. The laces are a cute tough, but the shoe in general is surprisingly a little heavy, especially based on its size. The 39 was a bit too roomy, even in thick socks, and I found it sort of difficult to walk in such a roomy shoe. Maybe a 38 would have been better? I returned my size 39 pair and opted for a full-sized boot that I will likely get a lot more wear out of.
For those who have more patience in terms of sizing discrepancies and also who like the bootie look (they are quite Victorian in my opinion)-- you should give these a try! "

love these riding boots!
" For almost two years now I have been in search of cognac riding boots that are have an overall slim look but are wide enough to zip up over my calves. Granted, I have seen boots that are wider in the calf area, but these fit comfortably over leggings and skinny jeans. Thicker jeans, I'm not too sure, but there is an extender in the top part of the boot which allows for some extra room. I am usually an 8 and I got these in 8.5; it gave me more room in the foot area (to wear them with thicker socks) and also gave me more room in the calf area.
These boots are not the traditional orange-hued cognac color, but more of a darker brown (but not really chocolate either). The heel isn't too high either, so you can comfortably walk around in them, although I would not consider them the best walking shoes because they are a little on the heavy side.
Overall, they are great and I think my search for cognac riding boots is finally over! "

cute shoe, but runs WAY too small
" This pair of heels is very cute and is clearly well made, but the 8 regular is more narrow than any other regular that I have ever tried. I would definitely go for a wide size if they have it or maybe even a half size up (because they also run short). I had to return them unfortunately, because even if I could fit my foot into them completely, I would have had a very difficult time standing and walking! "

very comfy boot!
" I love Bearpaw boots, and I have bought this style in the past in black before recently buying a tan pair. I would recommend getting a size down from what you usually wear, because the leather does stretch over time, and even sooner, the shearling on the inside gets matted down. I gave this pair four stars because only after wearing the boots for two or three days, the upper sole of the right foot began to separate away from the shoe. I will either exchange them for a different pair at DSW (they're great with returns/exchanges) or get the right shoe fixed at a shoe repair store. I don't want to give these comfy boots up! (I had a black pair of these for over a year and had no sole issues; I think this might be a fluke.) "

cute, comfy riding boots!
" It is very hard for me to find riding boots that fit comfortably over skinny jeans or leggings. I don't have particularly wide calves, but in the past, all I can find are riding boots that fit snugly over my leg, but allow no room for fabric! These are perfect, however, because they have the extender/stretchable material in the back that allows for more space between your leg and your boot! They also feel pretty good right out of the box-- so few boots do! I would definitely recommend these. I walked around all day the first day I wore them and my feet didn't hurt at all! "

cute boots... NOT comfortable for high arches!
" I was excited about getting these boots, but after trying them on and wearing them for only a little while, I was in such pain! I had to return them, unfortunately. If you have high arches, the balls of your feet will likely hurt with these; I even tried gel insoles, but those didn't work and didn't lay flat within the boot. It is too bad because I really liked these boots. I gave them three stars since they didn't work for me, but I would recommend them for someone who has flatter feet or can handle pain better, because they are a well-made boot! "

cute, casual sneaker! great for walking!
" This does not have the support of a running shoe, so I would not use it for that activity. But, this shoe still feels comfy after a long day of walking around the city! I would recommend wearing thin anklet socks to prevent bunching. This sneaker is really cute with skinny jeans or leggings! "

LOVE THESE SANDALS!
" I absolutely love these sandals! I got these at the beginning of summer and they were pretty much the ONLY pair of sandals I wore all summer! They are even more comfortable than flip-flops -- I didn't know that was possible! -- and they will become your favorite sandal! Note: I usually wear a size 8, and I purchased an 8.5 because they do run a little short. "

Classy, casual, good quality sneakers
" These aren't for me, I ordered them for my boyfriend, but he loves them! They are really good quality for the price, and are "broken in" within a matter of hours. They are not too sporty and not too dressy-- a good mix of casual and classy. "

Cute and (relatively) comfy wedge booties!
" I was not even looking for a pair of booties during a recent shopping trip at my local DSW, but these in cognac really caught my eye. In the past month I have had some bad luck with finding the "right" cognac riding boot, so I thought that booties may be a good change of pace. I was right! These are very cute, and comfy considering the size of the heel. They don't run too narrow or too short, and the buckle on the side doesn't dig into your foot. Really cute and they pair well with leggings tucked in or skinny jeans. "

Disappointing leather boots!
" I was very excited about these boots. One of my girlfriends has a pair in stone (she loves them) and I looked forward to getting a pair on cognac. I ordered my usual size, size 8, but when they arrived in the mail, they were way to short and narrow! I don't have particularly wide feet, so I found this pretty surprising. I was also disappointed with the quality of the leather for the price. I know that with real leather one has to expect imperfections, but these boots were already slightly scratched before I even took them out of the box. I think that they are still a good look for some, but just not what I was expecting--for instance, I thought that they were more of a riding boot with a stiffer upper and these instead sort of flop over, which can increase creasing in parts. Overall, I was pretty disappointed and unfortunately had to return them. "

Cute... but way too tight in the calves!
" I was really excited when I purchased these boots, but when I received them in the mail, I realized that my search for cognac-colored riding boots would have to continue. I don't have particularly wide calves, but these barely zippered over my bare legs. I know then that I would not have room to even wear the boots over leggings, let alone skinny jeans (which is what I wanted to do). They are good quality and a pretty color, but just too tight in the calves. They might be good if you have really skinny legs! "

comfy, waterproof winter boots!
" Since I live in NY, our winters are often both very cold and very wet. Warm, fur lined boots are often not enough to keep your feet dry, and regular rain boots are not warm enough. This is the perfect combination! They have a thin, flannel lining and have enough room for a thick pair of socks to up the warmth factor, if needed. Also, these boots are VERY sturdy. They can be worn over skinny jeans or comfortably fit under boot cut jeans or sweat pants. They kept my feet very dry in our late October blizzard! I don't love snow, but I'm looking forward to a couple more snow storms, because they will give me an opportunity to wear these boots! "

cute, chic "gladiator-light" sandal
" This was my favorite sandal this past summer! The gladiator style has been very popular for the past few summers and I particularly like this sandal because it does not lace up your entire ankle or calf like some gladiator-style sandals. I have gotten many compliments on this shoe-- some from friends, and some from strangers and it is as comfortable as it is cute. I would recommend it! "

amazing genuine shearling boots!!
" I absolutely love my new pair of Bearpaw shearling boots! They run true to size unlike some other shearling/sheepskin boot companies... ahem... and are definitely a very affordable and comfortable alternative! These boots fit well over both jeans and leggings and the black can even be dressed up for evening. I already know that they will be my go-to pair of boots this winter. I highly recommend them! "
