finally! boots for skinny calves!
" I've been looking for knee-high boots that fit my narrow calves FOREVER. These have a 13.5-14" circumference, which fits me perfectly. I'm usually a 9M, but ordered a 9.5M larger based on other reviews I'd read. These are a perfect fit with tights or mid-weight socks. There's a little bit of wrinkling/bagging at the ankle (I have skinny ankles too), but it's minimal and I may be able to strategically scrunch my socks at my ankle to help fill that in a bit. I ordered gray and the brown/butterscotch color (not the mottled brown pictured here). The mottled gray has a lot of blue undertones and a black heel -- would be good for a more casual look -- but doesn't match charcoal colored tights. I'm keeping the brown ones, which can be easily dressed up or down. A few other notes: The buckle at the heel is decorative and not adjustable. Very happy that they're waterproof leather with sealed seams, and are lined (but they aren't too warm to be worn inside all day). Rubber soul looks like it'll provide some traction in the ice and snow, and won't make a racket walking down the hall. "

cute and comfy, but not for skinny calves
" I have skinny ankles and calves and have a tough time finding tall boots that don't look like I'm swimming in them. I had hoped that the buckle near the top would allow me to tighten them enough to avoid this problem, but it didn't. You can adjust the buckle (there are three holes), but it only adjusts 1/8" either way, not enough to make a big difference. The shape of these boots is great -- they looked fabulous from the front and back and fit well around the ankles, but they looked too big from the sides on me. The fabric wasn't quite what I had expected -- it was almost weathered suede-like (it's not real leather) with a bit of sheen to it. They were true to size and very comfortable. If they had fit better around my calves, I would have kept them. "
