Was Hesitant To Order Online But...
" Like the title says, I was hesitant to order these online. I try everything on before I buy it and will only buy online if I know for a fact it's going to fit (ie: brands I always buy). I went ahead and ordered them because DSW has such an accommodating return policy. That being said, I am happy with my purchase.
I ordered a size 7.5 because DSW was sold out of size 8 which is my normal size. All of my other shoes and boots are a size 8 but I read someone's review saying that these run a bit big so I decided to risk it. I'm glad I did, the size 7.5 surprisingly fits me and the heel is even a little loose. The shoe itself is tight on my foot but I know it will loosen up with wear since it's leather. I don't wear wide shoes so these must run slightly narrow. The calf part fits perfectly, not too tight and I have room for leggings or skinny jeans. My calves measure right about 16 inches. These boots do have a small stretch panel running the length of the back of the boot but it is hidden well by overlapping leather which I appreciate. I do not like boots with the panels of stretch material and am only OK with it on this boot since it's hidden. The leather does bunch a little around my ankles but I'm hoping this will get better once the boot has molded to my foot/leg and honestly, I expected it to happen a little due to the style. All in all, I like the boot. It's a little plain jane and nothing spectacular but it fits nicely and is real leather and I couldn't beat the price: $80 with free shipping.
I bought a pair of black riding boots last year, I believe Life Stride, and within 2 months of wearing them the seam on the inside toe started to fall apart. Since the boots weren't leather there really wasn't much to be done besides glue which looked horrible. Now I refuse to buy boots unless they're real leather and like I said before, $80 for leather boots? Can't beat that.
I can't say much about the comfort since I've only worn the boots around the house when I first tried them on. The sole is padded and seemed comfortable but only time will tell. Other reviews listed them as comfortable so I'm hoping I will feel the same.
I realize this review is long but I wanted to provide an accurate description especially if it helps others with their purchasing decisions (reviews are a big factor in mine). All in all, I am happy with my purchase and will be keeping the boots.
(Also the shipping was quite fast, even with the nasty weather we've been having.) "
