Not really a leather upper?
" Maybe there is some thin layer that is leather under a verneer of fabric? I have worn these a few times and unfortunately got them a tad muddy. Unfortunately, the mud has left a permanent "cake" right above the sole as if this is a fabric shoe and when I rub to clean, they do not clean up like leather. It is as if the top layer will peel off if I use leather cleaner on them. The other issue is, unless you are a china doll and do not sweat, that they cannot be worn with bare feet or "net" stockings. The PVC lining inside makes them very un-breathable. Just use real leather, Nine West. It would be soooo much better if you would return to the manufacturing standards of yesteryear and stopped trying to cut corners.

Terrible!
" Did not even try them on. The leather of the toe box is hideous. Run your finger over it and it is loose - like they were trying to get a kid suede look (faux, of course), when it should have been a hard leather. I also really hate the use of so much man-made plastic in my shoes, especially given the price! As for the fit, I did not even try them on they are such a disappointment. I am really surprised that this is Steve Madden.

Back of shoe too high
" First of all, I bought these to replace a pair of Seychelles that I LOVED, and which I had worn into the ground. I wish I had not already tossed them in anticipation of the arrival of these. The Seychelles were real SOLID woven LEATHER. Not the case with these PVC lined leather overlay shoes. In addition, the back comes up way too high. I can tell they will be uncomfortable to walk in. I would have also preferred a small wedge, but I was so attracted to the look of the shoe. Sadly, they are going back.

No arch support, possibly not real leather?
" Bought the olive green. Not sure if I will keep them. They are "slipper like" with no arch support whatsoever. I am skeptical as to whether these shoes are really suede. There is something about them that feels more like "faux suede fabric" although I do detect a leather smell. If companies would just use ALL real leather and suede and re-institute the symbol on the sole, I would be a happy camper. I hate buying these hybrid/engineered shoes. So unfriendly to the environment.

Okay if you get a size bigger
" I ordered these online and then returned for a half size larger (paying for shipping twice). I am not usually between sizes, so it runs small. Very attractive shoe. I wish the sock were leather and not "faux" (i.e. plastic), especially for a shoe at this price point. Faux insides make your feet sweat more. Another issue is a pop or squeak every time I take a step with my left foot. I am wearing these today and hoping the popping sound works it way out. .

Look great. Straps a problem.
" My pinky toe slides out of the side when walking. Cute for wearing a short period of time, but not for long distance walking. Good height.
