Gets better with time

" I am on the fence about these. I was looking for some flat riding boots and saw these at Macy's but got a better deal with DSW. I picked them because they were real leather and didn't look cheap withnot-too-little and not-too-much embellishment. They have the simple and classy look I was going for with this boot.

Now fit and comfort...I find most shoes uncomfortable anyway so I'm not the best judge. They felt big to me, but I don't mind a little room since I added some comfort inserts which helped a lot. The hard toe box is a little annoying but the more I wear them, it seems to be loosing up a bit- the boots are breaking in.

The boot shaft was fine for me and I think I have pretty large calves. It's a tight fit so a half centimeter more and I'd be out of luck. This area of the boot is comfy. The only complaint I have is the zipper was a bit of a struggle to get going, especially in the beginning when I was unzipping them all the way down.

So overall, they fit the style and quality I was going for, and the fit and comfort was average. "

Verdict is not out on this one

" I need a comfy black pair of shoes that don't feel like I'm wearing "real shoes"- I'm a sneakers kind of girl and I have bad knees so as much as I love heels, I'm not weairing them around the office all day. So based on reviews and the sale, I gave these a try. If I had passed them in the store I probably wouldn't have tried them because they LOOK heavy. They are heavier than I'd prefer but not too bad- my main issue is that it's kind of large, but not to the point where you would go up another size. My foot seems to slide forward but then again, I'm between sizes, I wear heavy socks and I'm still trying to figure out the best combo with these. The reason this gets 3 stars for now is because for me this type of shoe takes a while to see how it fits. It IS a comfy shoe. But for me with my weird foot/knee issues we'll see- I am still playing with inserts.
As for looks, if you are looking for excitement, you wouldn't be considering this shoe. The other reviewers are correct, it does look good with jeans, it has that "boot" look. It also works with casual dress pants so it's a winner there. I shined them and that was a decent improvement in the looks department.
Overall, if you are just looking for something casual, this works. There are better options, I prefer Merrell for comfort but at the price, you have nothing to lose. "
