Took a science experiment to make them work!
" My husband wanted Sperry boat shoes, and he has a wide foot.
We went to our local store, and he tried on his regular size--9W. He couldn't even get his foot in. He tried the next size up, and it fit better. But overall, it still didn't feel just right. We went online and googled how to break in boat shoes.. Its a process using salt water for several hours to "marinate" the shoes, then you put them on and wear them around until they mold to your foot.
He did that, and now they fit just fine. Others may not want to to work so hard to get a pair of shoes to work, but, hey, they are Sperry boat shoes, and the classics will always be around.
Just have patience! "

Cowboy boots for city girls
" I don't normally even look at cowboy boots--too country for me-but I happened to see these boots on a recent DSW visit, and I liked the color of the leather. The size was half larger than my usual, but they fit well with thicker socks. What sold me was the reaction of other shoppers. Many came up to me and commented how cute the boots were. They ARE cute, and also, pretty comfortable. I walked around in them for a minute, and finally decided it was time to buy them. If you are looking for casual boots that will work well with skinny jeans, I would definitely consider them. Out of my comfort zone, for sure, but change is good.

Great find!
" I found these boots on sale during a recent visit to DSW, and although they were a half size larger than I usually wear, they were so cute and I thought I would try them. It worked out just fine!
I happened to have on slightly thick socks, and the boots were not too large-they fit perfectly. So, true to size with regular socks; if you prefer to wear heavier socks in the winter, you could go up a half size. All in all, very satisfied. These boots are a little distressed, so good with jeans or cords. But they fit like a glove, and were a very happy surprise find. "

Too Granny
" These pumps had lots of potential, especially the Joan and David branding. But they were not very comfortable and looked very dated when tried on with skinny jeans. I loved the color and the heel isn't ridiculously high, but they are simply not that flattering on the foot--almost orthopedic. If the fit was better, I might have tried harder to make them work, but they rubbed against my ankle bone and it was going to be a major problem

Flashy, but not in a good way
" The online picture doesn't represent properly what these sandals look like on an actual foot. Whoa, they do stand out--the gold accents are pretty out there, and you either like them or you don't.
I didn't. The whole look is kind of cheesy, and the fit is not that great. I guess with the right outfit, they could work, but they feel heavy and the famous in-between-the-toe hurt, well, it hurt.

Leap of faith-glad I did
" These booties got so many mixed reviews, I was hesitant to order online without trying them on. But I trusted the Steve Madden brand to be reliable, and it turns out, the gamble was worth it.
Yes, the fit is a bit strange when you first put them on-they are narrow and slightly long, but with socks, the extra room doesn't seem to matter. But they are real leather, and at the current price point, good luck trying to find something comparable.
After I ordered them, I started noticing this cut-out bootie trend all over, and for a lot more money. I wore them to work and got noticed, and my feet did not feel any pain all day. They look a little clunky, not sleek, but I think that's the point. With boyfriend style pants or jeans, they give you a nice edge without the biker overkill. So yay Steve Madden and DSW for giving us up-to-date shoes that are affordable and wearable. "

Updated Chukka
" For the price, this is a great bootie-I got it in the sand color and it reminds me of the old chukkas-short suede laceups. Yes, the suede isn't the softest and the boot is slightly stiff. It seems to run true to size-maybe slightly long and wide, but nothing a thick sock can't fix. I imagine wearing them with cords and skinny jeans, and they should work fine if the weather isn't nasty-I don't think they will hold up in snow. But there are other boots for that...

What happened to the leather?
" I was looking for a flat, comfortable but trendy brown leather sandal, and I thought these SM's were just right. However, I just received them, and they are anything but right. The primary problem is that they are manmade leather-and the website did not reflect this information correctly. Summer sandals can cause blister issues and I have found that real leather works better to soften the blow. Manmade is stiff and doesn't sit right on your foot. I thought for the original price these would be leather-so disappointed. Plus, they run a little long and are not very flattering. I am going to return them and hope to find what I am looking for at a DSW store.

Love/hate these sandals
" I really wanted to love these sandals-the price discount was great, the color neutral and easy to wear with anything and I think the gladiator style is still current. That being said, when I received them, I wasn't sold. They just look blah-not bad, really, but nothing special. They are almost sold out, so others have embraced them, but I only buy a couple of pairs of sandals each spring/summer season, so they all have to count. These just sit there. I originally thought they were comfortable, but when I walked around for a few minutes, the wide ankle strap started chafing. Could be a potential problem. Also, maybe because of the color, they more or less blend in with your skin and the lack of contrast makes them look less than flattering on the foot. Too bad--I had high hopes for Adrian. But no. I exchanged them for tried and true Franco Sarto.

Awkward Style
" I ordered these boots after an hour on the DSW website, searching for a pair that was cute, trendy and well-priced--I thought the Marni boot was it. Loved the neutral color, loved the laceup and loved the faux fur lining. I did think the toe of the boot looked odd in the picture, but couldn't really tell. Until they arrived in the mail.OMG, these boots look weird. The toe is not round and its not quite square-something in-between. But the look is horrible-I shop thrift stores often and the boots I see and pass up have this kind of toe shape. Old fashioned, maybe? Tried them on with skinny jeans-just awful. Such a shame, considering how much I liked the rest of the styling. I am surprised that a pair of SE boots would look so strange. Maybe if you're a teen you could get away with them. For me, no.

Really cute, but...
" I noticed the re-emergence of Kork's this spring and was anxious to try them, as the brand is supposed to be synonymous with comfort. I tried on several of the strappy flatforms and frankly, they looked like orthopedic shoes-not sexy at all. These are at least youthful. However, the bands, while leather, are really tight. I am also on the fence about the flower-its cute but maybe a little too big--it flops around when you walk. All that being said, I haven't decided whether to keep them. I am thinking about removing the flower.

Beware the thong
" I ordered these sandals based on the v-e-r-y positive reviews I read online. However, when I received them, they didn't live up to the hype. First, the leather piece that goes between your toes IS NOT COMFORTABLE-just walking around my apartment for a few minutes caused a blister. Also, the top ankle strap is really too loose and required me to put the pin on the last hole-still a little big. Overall, they look and feel clunky and frankly, not that cool. That being said, some seem to really like these sandals, so maybe its just me. I returned them for a different FS pair.

Only So So
" I have a few suede pull-ons like these, and I have to say that these are very disappointing. I ordered the olive green color, and it was more brown than green. The suede was not all that soft and had a few dark scuff marks on the front-don't know if this is deliberate or not. My main issue is that the inside of the top of the boots is lined is some cheap plastic and you can't cuff them or scrunch them down. Overall, they are OK for the price, but nothing special, and frankly, not that comfortable.
I guess you have to spend a little more to get special. "

Did I get the same boots?
" Wow, I cannot believe all the rave reviews these boots received--I was shocked at how uncomfortable they were-and that's after struggling to get them on(no zipper). The real issue was this stiff piece inside that wraps around the heel-it felt like something that should be removed before trying the boot on-but its part of the boot. Maybe mine were defective?. Its too bad because the cognac leather is nice and the boot height is practical, but there was no way I could keep them.

CUTE and FIERCE
" These shoes are great--at the same time both cute and a little bit fierce.
They almost resemble wrestling boots-but way more stylish. They do run a bit long, but sizing down would probably make them too uncomfortable.
Its been too cold to wear them yet, but they will look nice with spring cargos and skinny jeans. Color is neutral and goes with everything. Basically, you can't go wrong with them-and the price is right. "

Cute and comfy
" I tried these shoes on in a DSW store, but didn't purchase them. After thinking about it, went back to get them and they were gone. I then HAD to have them even more, so I ordered them online. I had to spend a little more than the store purchase, but the fit is terrific and they are really comfortable-the leather is soft and doesn't chafe. They are trendy and who knows if gladiators will still be around next year, but for this summer, I will enjoy them.
