wide calf, tight ankle
" I'm plus size and need wide calf boots. These fit me in an 8.5 with the top buckle on the last hole. But the ankle is sooo tight! Not the buckle part but the actual boot is quite narrow at the ankle. I wore them with a thin sock and leggings, by the end of the day my ankles were sore. Maybe I can wedge round bottle in there to stretch them out while I'm not wearing them. Otherwise, they are nice quality and stylish.

runs big
" I should've listened to other reviewers - these boots run about a 1/2 size too big. By the time I re-ordered a smaller size, the cognac color was sold out, so I got the brown instead. Very soft leather, not stiff at all so there's no need to break them in. I'm plus size and these fit me well without looking any less stylish than regular calf boots. Got some compliments, especially on the stud details up the back.
