The ONE...
" If you want a shoe that immediately feels amazing (like millions of microscopic clouds are simultaneously hugging your feet) then there's nothing quite like Saucony's Ride series shoe, especially the 3.
This running shoe is what I consider to be an all-purpose shoe for everything. While it might not excel at any one single task 100% better than all others, it is still easily in the TOP 5% of EVERY category when it comes to running shoes.
I should mention that for every day running/long-runs only, that off the bat it could be considered a "heel-striker's" shoe and since I am a forefoot runner, it is a noticeable trait, however I personally love this since it makes all the difference in the world each time I catch my breath and walk, or jog slowly.
The shoe requires NO orthotics of any kind in order to maximize comfort, but that being said- if you wanted to use an insole you should note that the heel cup is fairly shallow, which means your heel could easily pop out if your insole is too thick.
The outsole has fantastic grip and traction on a variety of surfaces from light trail to wet pavement and the upper is flexible with plenty of room in the toe box area, which for people have an exceptionally long 2nd toe (self-excluded) this is a plus. Although the length does seem to run a bit longer than normal, it does not affect the flex-point at all and I've never tripped while using these.
All in all my favorite shoe of all time for all-around purposes. "

Therapy For Your Feet
" It's not surprising that Brooks makes phenomenal running shoes, however there are instances where the majority may disagree on what is and what isn't desirable.
For example- I've used the Ghost 4 and honestly felt that the DNA cushioning in the forefoot area is somewhat uncomfortable and distributed awkwardly. I also felt that for higher-arched runners that there isn't enough support. Furthermore the "cushioning" that so many were boasting about felt mediocre at best. I'm only 158 lbs and so while not a lightweight runner, not a heavyweight by any means either and I was surprised.
However, the Brooks Glycerin 9 does NOT disappoint in any way, shape, or form. There is sufficient arch support for moderate - high arched runners. The DNA cushioning runs throughout the length of the shoe and it functions extremely well without feeling too "squishy" and there is plenty of room in the toebox area for those with slightly wider feet like myself.
This is NOT a race-day shoe as it does feel a bit "clog-like", however for normal every-day use (i.e. walking, jogging, going around town) I would say that this is the best out of the Brooks line for practical purposes.
I've also found that they look adequately fashionable with a pair of jeans and they are beautifully designed.
All in all, a great shoe and for DSW rewards members you can get a pair at an amazing price! "
