I didn't slip going downhill
" I ordered these to replace a pair of Timberlands that had served me pretty well for 2 years (until water seeped into the left shoe (not to mention, they were too big because my exboyfriend bought them and got confused about the boy-to- women's shoe size conversion (not why we broke up))). I work outside most of the time and am often tethered to rambunctious puppies. I was looking for a few key things: warmth, waterproof, comfortable with walking 5-6 miles, and decent traction. These fulfill all these requirements. I haven't tested the waterproofness(?) quite yet, but they have held up to dog slobber. It's January in Baltimore, so the rain/ice/ filthy slush will happen soon enough. If they are still wonderful I will add to this.
*also, I ordered a 1/2 size larger than usual to make room for socks. And, I have somewhat high arches-these were very comfortable in the arch department, too.

Mom loves them
" Not wanting to do the traditional Mother's Day gift of flowers or candy, I ordered these for my mom. She used to drag me with her to shoe shop when I was a kid and always leave with an armful of shoeboxes. Sometimes she would buy the same shoe in three different colors. Now that we live 1500 miles apart, I don't get to open her closet and tease her for the abundance of shoes she has, but I can add to the collection. I was able to find a style she would like in a pattern she probably wouldn't buy herself but would surely admire on someone else's feet. I was right. As soon as she got them, she sent me a text exclaiming how much she loved them. So, to all daughters: Know your mother's shoe size and get her some funky cool shoes! "
