Cute, but cheap and runs long
" I had to go a size smaller on these shoes because they run so long, but now they're about a narrow as I can stand while still being reasonably comfortable. The material is a little on the cheaper side, and it's unlined, so the edges of the elastic inserts can rub a bit. And the edge of the heal needs to be broken in - it was very stiff and cut into my heel after only a couple hours of wear. But it is a super cute shoe!

They fit! More distressed than anticipated
" So my calves are 17" in circumference at their widest point - I don't even have cankles or anything, just giant athletic calves. I wear a size 9, which is starting to get large for women. This means I have practically zero selection in brown riding boots that fit. But these do! Yay!
I only wish that the photo showed a bit better how distressed the leather is - their luster is approximately eggshell, and they are very scuffed all the way up the shaft trying for that well-loved look (but not even in a way that makes sense). So be prepared for that. I got the "cognac" color, which is barely redder than brown, so it's still a great neutral. My other complaint is that the top edge of the boot is nearly raw, just a single stitch going around, so I hope that holds up. Also I wish the boots were tapered a bit more towards the top since the widest part of my calve is a good four inches below the top of the boot. But this is a situation where beggars can't be choosers :-/ So while I have plenty of nits to pick, they still seem pretty good so far!

Love the look plus some small disappointments
" I bought these shoes because they looked deliciously steam-punk, and overall I am quite pleased, but there were a few minor issues: (1) they seemed to run a touch large to me, but with the buckles on their tightest setting it fit well- so hopefully those straps won't stretch too much or else I'll have to punch new holes, (2) the fur does not go that far down into the shoe, so it's not quite as warm as I would like, and (3) the sole of the heel is very hard plastic, so they're quite loud and clacky on non-carpeted floor (which is obnoxious because no one wears heals where I work, so I stand out like a sore thumb walking by everyone's offices).
