Defective workmanship
" I ordered these shoes for my daughter after she tried them on in the store, but the store shoe was not sewn properly on the left inside bottom where the cloth meets the shoe platform. It would be on the instep side. There was a significant bump only on the left shoe that would definitely irritate the wearer. It was not properly sewn. The right side was fine! When we received the new pair, it had exactly the same problem. There must be a manufacturing defect, since it is exactly the same problem. I have returned them and the associate at the store also agreed that it was not wearable.
